The Trainer

Katelyn Metzger

Katelyn Metzger is the founder and lead trainer for That’s So Fetch Dog Training established in 2015. With degrees in psychology and veterinary technology, her passion and interest in canine behavior grew.

After graduating with her Associates in Veterinary Technology from Oklahoma State University-OKC in 2013 and becoming a State and Nationally licensed Registered Veterinary Technician, Katelyn went on to finish her bachelor’s degree in Science of Psychology at East Central University. With her general knowledge of psychology, she wanted to further her understanding in applying that to dogs.

In 2014, she was accepted into the Karen Pryor Academy for Dog Training and Behavior and graduated in 2015 as a Certified Training Partner. Katelyn took her soul dog, Maggie, through the KPA program and it deepened her bond with her 10-year-old sheltie which she didn’t think was possible. Going through the program helped her understand that just like communication is the number issue with human relationships, it’s also one of the biggest issues in the human-dog relationship.

Katelyn has helped many owners change their relationship with their dog by helping bridge the gap in communication and customizing her training plans to her clients’ needs, because no two dogs are the same.

Katelyn has a 5-year-old chocolate lab, Juno, and a 3-year-old sheltie, Sasha. She’s done Agility with Juno and Barn Hunt with both dogs. On the weekends, she enjoys time with her fiancé, step-son, and dogs outside at parks exploring the different areas of Oklahoma.
